Prem Willis-Pitts is a Liverpool rocker and author of "Liverpool, The Fifth Beatle," a "Sam Recommended" book.  Prem went to the Chicago Beatles convention to feature his book, but unfortunately as he arrived late, he was not in the program.  He was worried that none of the attendees knew of his presence.  Sam, who he hadn't seen since Liverpool days and always ready to help out a scouser bud, suggested that Prem come on stage during Sam's talk - typical of Sam, he made it a gag-fest.

Here is the scene, as described by Prem:

 

 

"At the Conference we met  Sam Leach whom I hadn't seen for 25 years. Sam managed the Beatles before Brian Epstein took over. Ever the joker, Sam asked me to come into his lecture and heckle him from the audience. I stood up and accused him of being an imposter as the real Sam Leach was in Liverpool still. Sam appeared to become mad and he invited me up onto the stage "to face him like a man." (Linda the MC in the pic is in on the joke). To both the audience's surprise and mine (we hadn't arranged this). Sam pulled off my hat, jumped up and down on it and threw it into the audience. There was a stunned silence from the audience who thought it was real".

That was not the end of the fun.  Prem decided to play a return gag on Sam, which took place later at the book seller's room.........
